A regular meeting took place between the Presidents of the Iorio Vivarelli Foundation, Prof. Giulio Masotti and Ugo Poli, and Oreste Ruggiero, President of Artistic Activities at the Exhibition Centre Leo-Lev in Vinci.
The aim of the meeting was to find common themes to raise the profile of the work of Iorio Vivarelli, a sculptor with a rare ability to combine art and architecture. His collaboration with the architects Stonorov and Michelucci, as well as Carlo Pedretti and his study of Leonardo as an architect and not just a painter in the conventional sense, were important contributions to his creative growth.
Another theme that unites the two protagonists is a particular interest in “fountains”; for Pedretti it is the fountain designed by Leonardo, created with Oreste Ruggiero for the current Carlo Pedretti square in Vinci, for Vivarelli it is the winning design of the Riti di Primavera fountain in Philadelphia, inspired by a work of Igor Stravinsky’s Sacred Spring.
