The Angel Gabriel of San Gennaro in Lucchesia and its restoration

The Parish Church of San Gennaro in Capannori (Lucca) houses a polychrome terracotta statue of an Annunciating Angel, which in 1999 was attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. In addition to analysing the work from a historical and iconographic point of view, the volume also documents the careful restoration carried out by the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, which has restored the work to its original splendour.
