Works by Oreste Ruggiero
The ground floor of the Leo -Lev Exhibition Center hosts the collateral show Skyline, the cities of Leonardo by Oreste Ruggiero – Italian artist, essayist, and architect – dedicated to the places that have accompanied the path of life of the Renaissance Master.
Ruggiero’s graphic works, reproduced on large-sized wall panels, depict the urban panoramas of Vinci, Florence, Milan, Rome, Amboise: five cities that represent as many stages in Leonardo’s human and artistic journey, from his birth and artistic training to the last years of life spent in France.
In fact, these cities have marked the life of Leonardo. Vinci, the relationship with nature; Florence, artistic and above all philosophical training. Milan, dreams and achievements. Rome, the bitterness of feeling overcome. And finally, Amboise, the vain dream of realizing the project of life.
Like the works on display, the Pedretti Square in the Leo- Lev Center hosts other Skylines (on the theme of those executed by Oreste Ruggiero for the Police Headquarters in Florence, Rome and for the Prefecture offices of Pisa): four engravings on brass representing the places of Leonardo’s life.
